VALPARAISO, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team fell to Valparaiso University 88-185 in their first meet of 2023 on Friday night. 

Cate Stauffer brought home the lone swimming win for the Fightin' Engineers in the 1000 Freestyle with a season best time. Stauffer swam an 11:29.09 and won by more than 16 seconds. Audrey Hankins also brought home a pair of diving wins in the 1 meter and 3 meter.

Natalija Pumpurs and Lauren Meyer led the team with four top-3 finishes. Pumpurs swam second in the 50 Freestyle and finished third in the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay, and 100 Butterfly. Meyer took home second place in the 200 Breaststroke and finished third in the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Breaststroke, and 200 IM.

Rose-Hulman returns to action their home pool on Saturday, January 14 at 1:00 against Illinois Wesleyan.
