TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team falls to Hanover on Wednesday night 78-84 after a cold shooting performance in the second half.
Rose-Hulman started the game hot in the first half, getting out to an early 27-14 lead. However, the Panthers would fight back to eventually take the lead with a 15-0 run. The Fightin' Engineers would end the half with a run of their own to lead 48-42 at the break.
In the second half, it was more of the same with both teams scoring it in bunches. Hanover was able to take their first lead in the half around the 8 minute mark as a 13-2 run over four minutes stretched the lead to 74-67. The Fightin' Engineers kept battling and were able to cut the lead to 4 three different times with 1:28 to go, 48 seconds to go, and 16 seconds to go, but they were unable to get it back down to one possession. Rose-Hulman could not overcome their cold second half shooting as they shot just 33% compared to 52% for Hanover.
Miles McGowen led the Fightin' Engineers with 19 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

Ty Houston led the Hanover Panthers with 28 points. Coleman Sater also added a career-high 25 points, besting his prior career-high of 17.Â
Hanover improved to 11-7 overall and 7-4 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 9-9 and 6-5 in conference games. The Fightin' Engineers return home on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM as they host Mount St. Joseph.
