TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed a strong second behind only national power Washington University in St. Louis at Friday Night Spikes Meet #3 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
Tim Youndt led the Rose-Hulman performance with two first-place finishes. Youndt recorded the No. 3 mark in Rose-Hulman history in the triple jump (45' 9 3/4") and also won the 60-meter hurdles (8.52 seconds).
Other individual winners included
Antoine Cooper in the shot put (46' 6 1/4") and
Tyce Miller in the 60-meter dash (7.13 seconds).
Another all-time No. 3 performance in Rose-Hulman history was recorded Friday, as
John Sluys completed the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:15.52.
Rose-Hulman recorded 11 overall top-three finishes in the meet, including 2nd and 3rd place efforts by
Prescott Brackett in the 200 and 60.
Rose-Hulman hosts Friday Night Spikes Meet #4 next weekend.
