NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team traveled to face Manchester University in HCAC action on Saturday. The team came up short in a competitive match with a final of 2-3. This drops Rose to 12-11 overall and 2-3 in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman had three players reach double figures in kills.
Kate Wood led the way with 11 followed by
Sophia Koop and
Megan Korte with 10.
Jillian Gregg was the assist leader totaling 30 in the match.
Lily Ebright led the team defensively with 29 digs followed by Gregg with 15.
Allie Fults made her presence felt at the net totaling six blocks in the contest.
The Engineers stood down 1-2 in the fourth set. Back to back kills by Koop and a service ace by Ebright pushed Rose-Hulman to a win 25-18 to force the fifth set.
The Spartans were able to finish strong scoring five unanswered points in the fifth set to claim the victory over the Engineers.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action at home hosting Franklin College on Tuesday, 10/24 at 7 PM in their Cancer Research Game.
