HANOVER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team brought home a 0-0 draw from top-seeded Hanover on Wednesday afternoon. The Fightin' Engineers move to 7-3-5 on the season and 6-2-1 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman will be either the #3 or #4 seed in the HCAC Tournament depending on the result for Transylvania tonight.
Rose-Hulman came out of the gates strong and had a couple of good opportunities early.
Lauren Marquardt had a shot on goal in the 16th minute, and
Ella Johnson had a shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the Hanover keeper was able to make both saves.
The Fightin' Engineers had a pair of great opportunities in the second half on back-to-back attacks as both
Ally Smith and
Kyra Hicks had shots on goal, but Hinegardner, the Hanover keeper, was able to keep the clean sheet.
Lily Dore played a great game with seven saves in goal, and the Rose-Hulman back line played a great all-around game.
Jayden Gibson led the Fightin' Engineers will three shots in the game.
Rose-Hulman will take on the Anderson Ravens in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament on Saturday at 7 PM.
