TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's soccer team hosted Bluffton University in the opening round of the 2023 HCAC Men's Soccer Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers picked up a win over the Beavers with a final score of 2-1. This advances the team to 11-5-2 overall. 

Bluffton got on the board first with a goal by Leonardo Campos in the 33rd minute to take the 0-1 lead over the Engineers in the first half. 

The Fightin' Engineers found the equalizer on a goal by Owen Trudt assisted by Caleb Urban in the 57th minute to even the score at 1-1. Urban earned the game winning score on an assist by Elijah Hardersen in the 80th minute to claim the win over the Bluffton. 

The Rose-Hulman defense played well holding the Beavers to just seven shots in the contest. John Biederstedt was exceptional in goal for the Engineers with two saves. 

The team will advance to the HCAC semifinal facing Hanover College on the road Wednesday, 11/1 at 2 PM.
