TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team traveled to Anderson and survived with a 1-0 victory on the road to remain perfect in the HCAC this season.
The Fightin' Engineers controlled the majority of the possession in the game, and they outshot the Ravens 12-6.
Rose-Hulman broke the scoreless draw late in the 80th minute as a cross from
Julius Salinas was deflected in the box before it fell directly to the back post as Rose-Hulman goal leader,
Connor Patton, put it right past the keeper and into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead and his sixth goal of the season.
The Anderson offense created a great chance in the 86th minute as Brendan Hall played one across the face of the goal, but Rose-Hulman keeper
John Biederstedt came up with a great save for his only save of the game.
The Fightin' Engineers improve to 7-3-1 and 3-0 in the HCAC with the win. They will return home on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Defiance Yellow Jackets at 3:30 PM.
