TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's soccer team put their undefeated HCAC record on the line hosting Defiance College on Saturday afternoon. The Engineers picked up a win over the Yellow Jackets with a final score of 5-0. This advances the team to 8-3-1 overall and 4-0 in the HCAC.
The Engineers exploded offensively in the first half to jump to a commanding lead over the Yellow Jackets. The team out shot Defiance 12-3 in the first half.
Chase Kedzior reached the back of the net on an assist by
Owen Trudt to put the Engineers on the board in the 16th minute.Â
Trudt earned a goal of his own on an assist by
Caleb Urban in the 28th minute.
Matthew Schwartz extended the Rose-Hulman lead after an assist by
Tyler Eldridge to build the Engineers advantage to 3-0. Urban finished the half strong scoring two goals to put the match out of reach for the Yellow Jackets.Â
John Biederstedt was exceptional in goal for the Engineers earning the shutout win with five saves in the match.Â
Rose-Hulman will continue their HCAC schedule traveling to face Manchester University on Wednesday, 10/11 at 7:30 PM.Â
