TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 217-97 win over Bethel, an NAIA opponent.
The Fightin' Engineers used twelve first-place finishses en route to their dominating dual meet victory.
A trio of Rose-Hulman swimmers including
Ryan Bowering,
Carter Kirtz, and
Vineet Ranade all won three events at Saturday's meet.
Bowering won a pair of individual events with the 500 Freestyle and the 400 IM, and he was also a part of the 1st-place 200 Medley Relay team. His times in both individual events and his backstroke leg of the relay were all team-best times this season.
Kirtz also won a pair of individual events with the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke, and he joined Bowering as a pair of the 200 Medley Relay team.
Ranade won the 200 IM and 200 Butterfly, and he helped lead the 400 Freestyle Relay team to a first-place finish as well. His times in both individual events and his leg of the relay were the top times of anyone on the team this season.
Other team-best times this season were record by
Evan Sellers in the 1650 Freestyle,
Parker Siddons in the 3-meter Diving, and the 400 Freestyle Relay team.
Rose-Hulman will return to the pool on Thursday, November 17 at 6 PM as they host the Anderson Ravens for their final meet before Thanksgiving.
