BLUFFTON, Ohio-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers traveled to face Bluffton University in their first HCAC contest of the season on Saturday. The team earned a close win with a final score of 69-68. This advances the team to 3-3 overall this season.
Miles McGowen led the team with 19 points in the contest. Other double-figure scorers included
Kobe Stoudemire (12) and
Cole Pride (11). McGowen and Pride both led the team on the glass with seven rebounds.
Rose-Hulman built an eight point lead at the end of the first half with the score at 29-21. A made layup by
Simon Blair and a made free throw by Stoudemire gave Rose their largest lead of the day with the score at 64-53.
Bluffton was able to cut the lead to one point on a made layup in the final minute, but the Engineers would hold on to claim the win.
The team will continue HCAC play hosting the Mount St. Joseph University Lions on Saturday, 12/9 at 3 PM.
