TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team hosted Mount St. Joseph University in HCAC action on Saturday. The team suffered a close loss at the buzzer with a final score of 65-62. This drops the team to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC this season.
Miles McGowen had an exceptional performance with a career-high 33 points. He finished the game recording a double-double leading the team with 11 rebounds. McGowen becomes the first player since 2018 to score 30 points in a game.
Bradley Harden also reached double digits in scoring with 10 points in the contest.
The Lions built a 35-30 lead at the end of the first half in a competitive game. The Engineers put together a 21-2 run in the second half to take the lead 55-47 with 7:16 left in the game. A made three-pointer by the Lions tied the game at 62-62 with 41 seconds remaining.
Mount St. Joseph got the open look on a three-pointer in the corner and hit the shot to win the game at the buzzer to hand Rose-Hulman their first conference loss of the season.
The team will travel to face Hanover College on Wednesday, 12/13 at 7:30 PM.
