BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team picked up their second consecutive HCAC road victory with a 62-55 win over Bluffton on Saturday afternoon.
Bluffton took an early 20-19 lead after the first quarter thanks to six offensive rebounds, but Rose-Hulman battled back to take a 30-27 lead going into the locker room at halftime.
Rose-Hulman used a 6-0 run to end the third quarter to take a 48-42 lead into the final quarter of action. They would then extend their lead to 12 with an 8-2 run to start the fourth. Bluffton fought back with a 6-0 run of their own, but Rose-Hulman would be able to hold on for an 62-55 victory.
Sophia Reese and
Grace Roland led the team with 13 points each. Reese also added 5 assists, and Roland finished with 12 rebounds for another double-double.
Ashley Black and
Jamie Baum each finished in double figures with 12 and 11.
Rose-Hulman returns to Hulbert Arena on Saturday, December 9 at 1 PM for an HCAC doubleheader against Mount St. Joseph.
