LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team earned their second consecutive win with a 65-48 victory over Spalding.
Rose-Hulman started off the game hot with a 21-6 run over an 12-minute stretch after the game was tied 5-5. They held the Golden Eagles without a made basket for a 9:26 stretch in the first half.
The Fightin' Engineers stretched the lead to 21 points in the fourth quarter, but the Golden Eagles would answer with a 12-2 run to cut the lead down to 11, but they would make free throws down the stretch to cruise to a 65-48 victory.
Grace Roland led the Fightin' Engineers with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Mira Randolph added 13 points on 4-4 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
Maneulla Shomba and
Sophia Reese also finished in double figures with 12 and 11.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action after the new year as they host Franklin on Wednesday, January 3 at 7:30 PM for a return to HCAC competition.
