ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team falls to Emory 7-1 in their mid-week game in Atlanta. The Fightin' Engineers will head to Piedmont for a three-game invitational that will now begin on Friday due to rain in the Atlanta area on Thursday.
After getting down 6-0 after the seventh inning, Rose-Hulman was able to mount a small comeback with runs in the eighth and ninth innings, but they were only able to scratch two runs across.
Kade Kline led the Fightin' Engineers offensively with a pair of hits including the lone extra-base hit of the day with a double.
Colter Couillard-Rodak,
Peter Rogers,
Blake Deckard, and
Connor O'Connell each added a hit for Rose-Hulman with Couillard-Rodak picking up the lone RBI.
Rose-Hulman falls to 1-3 on the season, while Emory improves to 5-2 with their lone losses coming to #4 LaGrange and RV Rhodes. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Friday at noon at the Piedmont Invitational when they face Ferrum.
