TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology brought home their third consecutive men's basketball win as the Fightin' Engineers took down Bluffton 81-55.
The Fightin' Engineers were without two starters and one of their first players off the bench, but they were able to battle and get good showings from their bench early on. They led 40-28 at the half.
In the second half, the Fightin' Engineers lit it up from the outside with a couple of triples from
Bradley Harden and
Willie Bowman to help extend the lead to 18 early in the half. The Fightin' Engineers were lights out from behind the arc starting the game 9-13 from deep. They would cruise to a 81-55 win on the road.
Bowman led the way with a career-high 26 points on 8-10 shooting and 5-7 from three. Harden added 17 points on 7-13 and 3-3 from the outside.
Miles McGowen was in double figures with 14 points, and
Eddie Simon Jr. added 9 points in a career-best performance.
Rose-Hulman improves to 12-9 overall and 9-5 in HCAC play, while Bluffton dropped to 4-17 and 2-12 in league games. Rose-Hulman remains in fourth place in the HCAC, just one game back of Hanover for third. The Fightin' Engineers return to the road on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM as they host Manchester, the first-place team in the HCAC.
