BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior
Jailen Hobbs placed 13th in the 60-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Birmingham.
Hobbs ran a time of 6.89 seconds to record a national top 15 finish in the event.

Tim Youndt will compete in the men's triple jump at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship on Saturday at 2 pm Central Time.  Youndt has qualified No. 19 in the triple jump after recording a mark of 14.40 meters (47' 3") to win the HCAC title on Feb. 25.
His career highlights include HCAC indoor triple jump championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023; and winning the HCAC outdoor triple jump title in 2021. The mechanical engineering major is also a 4-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in the triple jump.
Hobbs is a 3-time HCAC Men's Sprinter of the Year. He won the 2023 honor after sweeping the 60-meter and 200-meter dash titles to help Rose-Hulman win its 12th conference championship in the last 13 years.
The computer engineering major is also a 3-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree and holds school records in the 60 and 200 indoors; and the 100 and 200 outdoors.
Youndt hopes to add to a Rose-Hulman track and field tradition that includes 56Â All-American awards, 10 NCAA Division III national championship performances and eight NCAA Division III runner-up finishes.Â
