TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a 3-hit performance from
Kade Kline and strong pitching to pick up a 6-4 win over Greenville University in the 2023 baseball home opener on Wednesday night at Art Nehf Field.
Kline finished 3-4 at the plate with three RBIs, one run scored and a key 2-run triple that helped Rose-Hulman pull away in the middle innings.
Andy Krajecki added two hits and one run scored for the Fightin' Engineers. Connor O'Connel added a single, run and RBI for the balanced offensive attack.
Alec Lewandowski tossed four shutout innings to pick up the win. Lewandowski allowed three hits and one walk with three strikeouts in the victory.

Jonathan Oliger shut out Greenville from the sixth to eighth innings in a strong team wide pitching performance.
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-3 on the season, while Greenville dropped to 2-4. The Fightin' Engineers host Alma this weekend in a 3-game series, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
