TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team dropped the rubber match of the series with Transylvania 10-2 on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers were able to push two runs across in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a
Kade Kline single, a pair of free passes, and an RBI by
Colter Couillard-Rodak.
Transylvania would answer with seven runs in the next two innings, only two of them earned, on four Rose-Hulman errors. The Pioneers would tack on three extra runs in the rest of the game for a 10-2 victory.
Conner O'Connell led the team with two hits in the game.
Rose-Hulman fell to 16-11 on the season and to 8-3 in the HCAC, while Transylvania improves to 16-13 and 8-3 in the HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers and the Pioneers are now locked into a three-way tie with Bluffton. The Fightin' Engineers return to action by hosting Transylvania for a three-game series.
