TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology lost to Greenville 12-7Â on Wednesday night for their fifth loss in six games.
The Panthers added four runs in the top of the first inning in with a two-run home run and a two-run double.
Rose-Hulman answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Andy Krajecki added an RBI single, and
Ben Christiansen added a two-run single.
The Panthers would add another in the second, three more in the seventh on another home run, and four more in the ninth.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Fightin' Engineers strung together five straight hits in the ninth to bring home four runs, but their rally would stall out for a 12-7 loss.
Krajecki led the team with three hits, and
Mason Rasmussen and
Peter Rogers each added two.
Rose-Hulman fell to 16-12 on the season, while Greenville improved to 15-14. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday and Sunday at Franklin for three games.
