TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team celebrated Senior Day for four team members with a historic record to highlight a doubleheader against Bluffton University.

Nicole Lang,
MaKenzie Morgan and
Ashley Pinkham were each honored prior to the game for their strong 4-year softball careers. Lang then provided the day's highlight with a single-season school record setting 8th home run as a two-run blast in the second game.
Bluffton won the opener 8-0 behind a 2-hit shutout from Erin Norman. Julia Tegeder led the Bluffton offense with three hits, including two doubles, and five RBIs.
Morgan and
Jadyn Winkler had game one hits for the Fightin' Engineers.
In game two, Lang blasted the two-run home run in the third inning to bring Rose-Hulman within 4-3 before the Fightin' Engineers fell 5-3.Â
Phoebe Worstell and
Hailey Hofmann had two hits to lead the offense, with Worstell hitting a double and Hofmann adding an RBI.
Seniors Fortuna, Lang, Morgan and Fortuna each had one hit in the nightcap.Â
Katelyn Sarvis added a single and one run scored.
Rose-Hulman returns to action on Wednesday with a 3:30 pm doubleheader at Franklin College.
