TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team drops both games of the doubleheader with Anderson with an 11-4 loss in game one and an 8-5 loss in game two.
In game one, the Ravens started the game off with a run in the first, but Rose-Hulman answered quickly thanks to an RBI double by
Colter Couillard-Rodak in the bottom of the first.
The Fightin' Engineers added three runs in the third thanks to a two-run double by
Dalton Busboom and an RBI single by
Mason Rasmussen.
The Ravens would answer with ten unanswered runs including three in the sixth, two in the seventh, and five in the ninth.
In game two, Anderson got off to a 5-0 lead with two in the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth.
Rose-Hulman battled back with a four run fifth inning thanks to a two-run double by
Kade Kline and an RBI double by
Caleb Frakes. Couillard-Rodak then tied the game in the sixth with a deep solo home run over the right field wall.
However, the Ravens came back in the ninth with a pair of home runs and four runs in the ninth inning to win the game 9-5.
Couillard-Rodak led the team with four hits.
Andy Krajecki and
Kade Kline each added three hits in the losses.
Rose-Hulman fell to 17-17 on the season and 9-7 in the HCAC, while Anderson improved to 19-15 and 8-8 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman will return to the field tomorrow for a doubleheader at Earlham at 1 PM and 4 PM.
