TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team sweeps Webster 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon in its home opener.
The Fightin' Engineers came out of the gates hot in the first set hitting .304 with 18 kills en route to a 25-16 win.
They cooled down a bit in the final two sets, but their strong defensive and powerful hitting attack helped them pull out 25-18 and 25-17 set wins.
As a team, Rose-Hulman hit .245 for the match with 50 kills to just 14 errors.
Allie Fults was all over the court for the Fightin' Engineers, leading the team with 12 kills, 3 services aces, 2 blocks, and a .500 hitting percentage for the match.
Kate Wood,
Jillian Gregg, and
Megan Korte also added double digit kills in the win.
Gregg led the team with 23 assists, and freshman
Hayden Hamilton added 18.
Lily Ebright recorded 24 assists with 8.0 digs per set to improve to be the only player in the nation to average over 7 digs per set for the season.
