Women's Soccer Falls Short in Road Match Against #4 Wash U

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers traveled to face #4 Wash U on Friday night. The team fell short suffering their first loss of the season with a final score of 3-0.

Wash U was able to strike first with a goal in the 13th minute to establish an early lead. The Fightin' Engineers responded shortly after with two shots on goal by Megan Foder and Jayden Gibson. With those two shots on goal, the Fightin' Engineers became the first team this season to record multiple shots on goal against the stingy Wash U defense. The score would remain 1-0 at the halftime break.

The Bears extended their lead in the second half and were able to come away with the win. Lily Doré represented Rose-Hulman in goal with five saves in the contest.

The Fightin' Engineers will move on to conference play as they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio for their HCAC opener against Mount St. Joseph University on Wednesday, 9/27 at 7:30 PM.
