CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers traveled to face the Mount St. Joseph Lions to begin HCAC play on Wednesday night. The team came up short falling to the Lions with a final score of 2-1. This drops the team 2-2-4 overall and 0-1 in the HCAC.
The Lions were able to score first in the 15th minute to take the early lead. Rose-Hulman would tie the match in the second half on a goal by
Kyra Hicks in the 59th minute off an assist from
Kiana Martin. Mount St. Joseph pulled away with another goal and strong defensive play to hand the Fightin' Engineers the loss in their HCAC opener.
Lily Doré represented the Fightin' Engineers in goal totaling five saves in the match.
Rose-Hulman will return to action on the road facing Earlham College on Saturday, 9/30 at 1:00 PM.
