TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's soccer team hosted Ohio Northern on Saturday and picked up the win for the first time in the series history between the two teams. This win advances the team to 4-3-1 overall this season.
Ohio Northern controlled the first half outshooting the Fightin' Engineers 4-1. The Polar Bears would connect with the net in the 22nd minute to take the lead with a score of 1-0 at the end of the first half.
The Fightin' Engineers found the equalizer in the second half after a goal by
Tyler Eldridge assisted by
Chase Kedzior tied the match in the 52nd minute.
Owen Trudt found the net for Rose-Hulman on an assist by
Jacob Pohl in the final six minutes to put the Fightin' Engineers on top and complete the comeback victory.
John Biederstedt was exceptional for the Fightin' Engineers in goal totaling five saves in the match against the talented offensive front of Ohio Northern.
Rose-Hulman will look ahead to begin conference play hosting Mount St. Joseph University on Wednesday, 9/27 at 7:00 PM.
