TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team dominated Earlham on Saturday afternoon en route to a 2-0 win. The Fightin' Engineers improve to 3-2-4 on the season and 1-1 in the HCAC with the win.
The Fightin' Engineers outshot the Quakers 33-3 in the win, and outshot them 18-0 in the first half of the game.
Kyra Hicks got the scoring started for the Fightin' Engineers with a goal in the 63rd minute off a great throw in from
Riley Heasley and a cross from
Jayden Gibson.
Hicks returned the favor to Gibson in the 82nd minute as
Kiana Martin hit Hicks in the middle of the field, and Hicks led Gibson on a perfect run. Gibson sidestepped the keeper and tapped in the goal to double the lead and put the game away.
Lily Doré had a quiet game in goal she made the only save necessary to record the clean sheet.
Rose-Hulman will return to their home pitch for the first time in two weeks on Wednesday as they host the Anderson Ravens at 7 PM for National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
