Women's Track & Field Places Second In Friday Night Spikes Opener

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman women's track & field team hosted their first indoor meet of the season this Friday night to kick off the Friday Night Spikes Series. The women's team placed second overall falling short to defending national champions, WashU, in the team standings.

The Fightin' Engineers earned five top-three finishes and two event wins on the night. Narindwa Semakula earned a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.36. Rofiat Adeyemi also picked up a first place win in the triple jump with a mark of 36' 8.5". 

Other key finishers included Kyra Hicks placing second in the triple jump (35' 2.5"), Audrey Edwards claiming third place in the high jump (4' 10.25"), and Carolina Snyder-Perez placing third in the weight throw (43' 9.25").

Rose-Hulman will continue their Friday Night Spikes Series next week on Friday, January 19 at 6 PM.
