LEXINGTON, Ky.-- The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team continued their conference schedule traveling to face Transylvania on Saturday. The team suffered a close loss to the Pioneers with a final score of 76-70. This drops Rose-Hulman to 8-11 overall and 6-6 in the HCAC.
Kobe Stoudemire led the team with 26 points in the contest.
Cole Pride was also exceptional with 19 points shooting 3-3 from beyond the arc and adding seven rebounds.
Miles McGowen recorded his seventh double-double of the year and led the team on the glass with 17 rebounds and 12 points.
The game remained close as the Engineers held a slim lead at the end of the first half with the score at 37-35. Rose was able to build their largest lead of the day at 10 points after a fast break layup by Stoudemire with 12:15 remaining in the contest to make the score 54-44.
After being down 63-55 with 8:48 remaining, the Pioneers erased the deficit to take back the lead ending the game on a 21-7 run to claim the win over the Engineers.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action on the road facing Andreson University on Wednesday, 1/31 at 7:30 PM.
