DEFIANCE, Ohio-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers traveled to face Defiance College in HCAC action on Saturday. The team came away with a dominant victory over the Yellow Jackets with a final score of 80-56. This improves the team to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the HCAC.
Miles McGowen had a strong performance recording his third double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Rocco Richie also led the team recording a career-high 22 points with a career-high six made three-pointers.
Kobe Stoudemire also reached double figures with 14 points in the contest.
McGowen got the Engineers off to a hot start scoring 20 points in the first half to build a substantial lead for Rose-Hulman with the score at 43-32 heading into halftime.
The team would not give up the lead for the remainder of the contest with multiple players contributing to the win. A made layup by
Jack Murphy with 2:00 left gave the Engineers their largest lead of the day with the score at 79-52.
The victory puts the Engineers back in the win column giving them their second win of the season against HCAC opponents.
The Engineers will return to action hosting the Earlham College Quakers on Wednesday, 1/10 for the John Mutchner Cup at 7:30 PM.
