BEREA, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team remained unbeaten and atop the HCAC with a 3-0 victory at Berea College on Saturday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers found the back of the net first in the 31st minute as
Cameron Hannah remained hot with his fifth goal in four games this season as he headed home a free kick cross from
Julius Salinas.
Not even three minutes later, Rose-Hulman doubled their lead on another goal from a freshman with
Ryan Shapiro heading one home off a cross from
Elijah Hardersen which was set up by
Chase Kedzior.
In the second half, the Fightin' Engineers did not take long as a third freshman found the back of the net with
Landon Kangas scoring his first career goal off a pass from Shapiro which was set up by
Sidharth Ganeshbabu.
John Biederstedt recorded his third clean sheet of the season and second consecutive clean sheet as he was forced to make just one save after Rose-Hulman outshot the Mountaineers 16-8Â in the win.
With the win, the Fightin' Engineers imrpove to 5-4-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the HCAC. The team returns to their home turf for two games next week as they host Franklin at 7 PM on Wednesday and Earlham at 3:30 PM on Saturday.
