TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team came from behind for a 29-25 victory over the Yellow Jackets with a game-winning touchdown drive in the final minute of the game.
After a scoreless first quarter, Rose-Hulman opened the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown pass from

Kolton Nanko. On the ensuing drive,
Kyle Rehberg drilled a 33-yard field goal to extend the lead to 10-0 early in the second.
The Yellow Jackets would end the half with back to back touchdown drives, and they would add a third touchdown in the third quarter to extend the lead to 18-10 after a trio of missed extra points.
Rose-Hulman responded with 12 straight points to take a 22-18 lead with two more field goals from 33 and 36 yards by Rehberg and an 8-yard touchdown run by

Defiance marched down the field to take the lead with a touchdown, and they left the Fightin' Engineers with just 1:06 on the clock and a 25-22 deficit.
Elijah Silva opened the drive returning the kickoff to their own 45-yard line, and
Jay Smith run with a facemask penalty pushed the Fightin' Engineers deep into Defiance territory in just one play.
Easterwood completed back-to-back passes to Nanko and
Daniel Huery before Smith scored his second touchdown of the day with 22 seconds remaining to give the Fightin' Engineers a 29-25 victory on their home turf.
Easterwood threw for 232 yards and a touchdown, and Smith added 143 yards on the ground with a pair of scores.
Nanko led the receivers with 6 catches for 81 yards and a score, and Huery added 7 catches for 62 yards.

The game-winning touchdown with 22 seconds remaining is the first game-winning touchdown drive in the final minute since the Fightin' Engineers took down #14 Franklin in 2016 on a touchdown with 21 seconds to go to win 23-22.
The victory over Defiance is the 13th consecutive win in the series for the Fightin' Engineers, and it improved Rose-Hulman to 2-4 on the season. They will return to action on Saturday, October 26 as they travel to Bluffton to take on the Beavers.
