TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team remained unbeaten and in the top spot of the HCAC with a 2-0 victory over the Quakers on Saturday.
After a scoreless first 35 minutes with very few scoring chances, the Fightin' Engineers struck first as
Ryan Shapiro ripped a shot into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Rose-Hulman would double their lead in the 71st minute as
Elijah Hardersen crossed one to the back post to Shapiro who found
Eli Miller inside the six-yard box for the goal.
The Fightin' Engineers outshot Earlham 13-4 with
John Biederstedt making the lone save in his fourth consecutive clean sheet, tying his career-long streak.
Miller led the team with four shots, and
Cameron Hannah added three.
With the win, Rose-Hulman improves to 7-4-3 on the season and 5-0-1 in the HCAC. They currently hold a three point lead atop the HCAC standings with tiebreakers over both Transylvania and Hanover.
