TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team suffered a hard-fought loss to Earlham College on Saturday after five sets with a final score of 3-2. This drops the team to 8-16 overall and 1-4 in the HCAC this season.
Amaya Harrell had an incredible game leading the team with a season-high 20 kills and a hitting percentage of .419.
Jillian Gregg also reached double figures in kills recording a triple-double with 12 kills, 18 assists, and 14 digs.
Lily Ebright was the standout defensively with 32 digs.
The Fighitn' Engineers got off to a strong start with a win in the first set 25-17. Earlham would claim the second set to tie the match with a 25-23 victory.
After a win by Rose-Hulman in the third set, Earlham was able to force the fifth set tiebreaker ending the fourth set on a 13-5 run to win 25-17. The Quakers carried their momentum into the fifth set to claim the win in the match 15-8.
The Fightin' Engineers will look to bounce back as they travel to face Franklin College on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 PM.
