TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers earned a win in their HCAC opener against Berea on Homecoming with a final score of 3-1. This advances the team to 8-11 overall and 1-0 to start conference play.
The Fightin' Engineers fell short in the first set 27-25 and rallied back to win three straight to defeat the Mountaineers 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.Â
Lily Ebright had a career night breaking the school record for digs in a single match with 58. Ebright averaged 14.50 digs per set and recorded 19 and 18 digs in the first two sets of the match. The 58 digs are the fourth-most digs in a single match since the NCAA began tracking individual match records.
Hannah Bergfeld was the star offensively for the Fightin' Engineers recording her third triple-double of the season with 12 kills, 15 assists, and 21 digs.
Amaya Harrell led the team with 18 kills in the match and an impressive nine blocks.
Keira Ohse also reached double figures in kills with 10.Â
Jillian Gregg was also exceptional with 30 assists and 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.
Rose-Hulman will continue their conference schedule traveling to Transylvania on Saturday, October 12 at 1 PM.Â
