Camille Clark Banger Leads Fighitn' Engineers to Upset over Hanover

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team took down the #4 team in the region on Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over Hanover.

Rose-Hulman had the first chance of the game in the 13th minute as Jayden Gibson's shot in the box was cleared off the line by a Panther defender.

The Fightin' Engineers struck first in the 22nd minute as Camille Clark ripped a banger of a free kick from 40 yards out into the top of the goal and past the Hanover keeper. The goal was Clark's second of the season and put Rose-Hulman in front 1-0.

Rose-Hulman would hold the lead through the remainder of the first half and outshot the Panthers 10-6 in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the Fightin' Engineers kept their foot on the gas, but they were unable to find a second to double their lead.

The Panthers had their best chance of the contest in the 64th minute as Beth Cook snuck behind the Rose-Hulman back line, but Lily Dore came up with an outstanding one on one save at the top of the 18.

Dore stood on her head with her second clean sheet of the season as she finished the game with five saves in the win.

Alex Adams led the team with 4 shots, and Kyra Hicks added three in the win.

With the win, Rose-Hulman improves to 3-6-1 on the season and remains unbeaten in HCAC play at 2-0-1. They return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Berea to take on the  Mountaineers at 1 PM on October 12.
