RICHMOND, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team hit the road to face Earlham College on Tuesday night. The team came away with a big win defeating the Quakers with a final score of 81-62. This advances the team to 11-13 overall and 9-8 in the HCAC.
Cole Pride was the standout for the Fightin' Engineers leading the team with 19 points shooting 5-8 from beyond the arc.
Miles McGowen also had an exceptional performance leading the team with eight rebounds and totaling 17 points. Other double figure scorers included
Jack Jenniges with 12 points and
Bradley Harden scoring 11 points.
After being down by one point with 4:48 remaining in the first half, the Fightin' Engineers put together a 15-3 run to establish a commanding lead heading into the halftime break with the score at 45-34. Rose continued to have success in the second half not giving up the lead for the remainder of the game.
A made layup by Harden with 4:11 remaining gave the Fightin' Engineers their largest lead of the game at 78-56. Rose-Hulman would walk away with the win securing their spot in the HCAC postseason tournament.
With the win, the Fightin' Engineers clinch the #6 seed in the HCAC Tournament. They will have a road game on Sunday, February 18 to open the tournament against either Hanover, Manchester, or Transylvania.
Rose-Hulman will return home to wrap up their regular season hosting Franklin College on Friday, 2/16 at 7:30 PM for Senior Day.
