TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team dominated Earlham on Tuesday night's home finale en route to a 85-60 win.
After a back and forth start to the game, Rose-Hulman took control in the second quarter with a 22-8 run to stretch the lead to 15.
The third quarter was more of the same for the Fightin' Engineers with a 13-3 run to start the half, and Rose-Hulman would grow their lead to as big as 34 as they cruised to the 25-point victory on their home floor.
Jamie Baum led the team with her fourth consecutive 20-point performance. She is just the second player in Rose-Hulman history to tally four consecutive 20-point games, and she is one away from tying Rose-Hulman Athletic Hall of Famer Rebekah Forsyth's school record of five straight in 2005. Baum also added 8 rebounds to go along with her 22 points.
Grace Roland and
Manuella Shomba dominated the paint for Rose-Hulman, and both players ended with double-doubles. Roland finished with 15 points and 10 boards, and Shomba added 12 points and 11 boards.
Maria Godoy-Rodriguez had the best game of her career as she recorded career-highs of 3 assists and 3 steals, and she tied her career-high with 5 points.
Tori Scales also had the best game of her career as she recorded career-highs of 6 points and 4 rebounds.
The Fightin' Engineers close out the 2023-24 regular season on Friday night as they travel to Franklin for a 7:30 PM tip.
With a win, an Anderson win, and a Bluffton win, the Fightin' Engineers will have clinch the #4 seed in the HCAC Tournament and a home game in the opening round.
