TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology standout swimmer
Vineet Ranade will represent the Fightin' Engineers at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships from March 20 to March 23 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Ranade qualified for the National Championships in the 200 Freestyle with his best time of 1:37.63 in the Kenyon Fast Chance Invitational last weekend which earns him the 8th seed in the event.
He also qualified for the National Championships in the 200 IM, earning the final qualifying seed (#18) with a time of 1:49.24.
In addition to the 200 Freestyle and 200 IM, Ranade will also swim the 200 Breaststroke in the Championships.
Ranade was the 2023 HCAC Swimmer of the Year, and he has won seven Individual HCAC Championships and 8 Relay HCAC Championships in the last three years.
The computer engineering major was also a 2nd-Team CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2023, and he currently holds eight different school records including the 100 Free, 200 Free, 200 IM, 200 Breast, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 800 Free Relay.
The junior from Mountain View, California is the first Rose-Hulman swimmer to qualify for the National Championships since Ellie Hong in 2017, and he is the first men's swimmer from Rose-Hulman to qualify since Orion Martin in 2016.
Ranade is looking to add to a Rose-Hulman swimming tradition that includes 15 All-American awards, four top-5 national finishes, and one national championship performance.
