GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior
Vineet Ranade earned the first All-American honors of his collegiate career on Thursday night after a 16th place finish in the 200 Freestyle National Championships.
Ranade qualified for the B Finals in the morning prelims with a time of 1:38.38 which was good enough for a 13th place finish.
In the evening session, Ranade swam a 1:39.47 en route to a top-16 finish to earn his 2nd-Team honors from the CSCAA.
Ranade is the first swimming All-American from Rose-Hulman since the men's 200 Freestyle relay team in 2021. He is also the first individual swimming All-American since Ellie Hong in 2017.
The computer engineering major will finish his week at the NCAA National Championships on Saturday as he competes in the 200m Breaststroke.
