TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team snapped their three-game winning streak on Wednesday night with an 8-2 loss to Wabash.

Rose-Hulman jumped out to an early lead in the second inning as Mark Serdinak singled home Tyler Otroszko for a 1-0 lead.

After Wabash tied it in the fifth, the Fightin' Engineers would retake the lead in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Connor O'Connell to score Colter Couillard-Rodak.

The Little Giants would capitalize on three Rose-Hulman errors in the top of the seventh inning to take control of the game with five runs. They would also added two in the eighth and hold on for the 8-2 victory.

Zacheus Carr, Brad Nardi, and Brett Borcherding combined to allow just one run in the first six innings of action while striking out five batters total. Jackson Summers and Evan Chung would combine for 1.1 innings of shutout baseball to finish the game.

The win for the Little Giants would be their first in Terre Haute since 2003 with Rose-Hulman holding a nine-game home win streak coming into the night.

Rose-Hulman falls to 11-7 on the season. They will return to action this weekend as they travel to Lexington, Kentucky for a three-game series with the Transylvania Pioneers. The first game of the series will be Friday at 7 PM with a doubleheader at 1 PM and 4 PM to finish the series.
