ADA, Ohio -- The Rose-Human Fightin' Engineers women's soccer team traveled to face Ohio Northern in their season opener on Sunday afternoon. The team suffered a loss to the Polar Bears with a final score of 3-0.
Ohio Northern was able to set the pace in the first half out-shooting the Fightin' Engineers 9-2. Rose-Hulman was able to hold off the Polar Bear's attack to keep the match scoreless at the halftime break.
The Polar Bears continued to put on the offensive pressure breaking the scoreless tie in the 60th minute with a goal to take the lead. The team added two more goals in the second half to solidify the win over the Fightin' Engineers.
Kiana Martin and
Lauren Marquardt led the team with one shot each.
Lily Doré represented the team in goal with five saves.
Rose-Hulman will return to action on the road against Webster University on Wednesday, September 4 at 5:30 PM.
