TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team dropped their fourth straight contest in a 1-0 defeat to DePauw in their home opener.

The Tigers controlled most of the first half possession, and they had a great opportunity in the 19th minute which was saved by Lily Dore in a diving effort. However, they were able to capitalize in the 28th minute as Jess Purtee found the back of the net for her fourth career goal to give DePauw a 1-0 lead.

The Fightin' Engineers had three opportunities in the final six minutes of the half, but they were unable to put any on goal.

Through 60 minutes, shots were tied 4-4 before Rose-Hulman was able to completely take over. The Fightin' Engineers outshot the Tigers 8-0 in the final 30 minutes of action.

The DePauw keeper came up huge on back-to-back shots in a minute span with five minutes remaining, pushing both shots by Katie Choi and Kyra Hicks just over the bar.

Hicks led the Fightin' Engineers with 4 shots, and Sydnee Schuler and Camille Clark each added a pair.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Danville, Kentucky to take on the Centre Colonels.
