GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team suffered two losses on the road in the Denison Tri-Match. The team suffered a loss to John Carroll 3-1 and Denison 3-1. This drops the team to 5-10 overall this season.
Jillian Gregg was the standout for the Fightin' Engineers in the first match of the day against John Carroll. Gregg recorded a double-double with 13 kills and a team-high 20 assists.
Amaya Harrell also reached double figures in kills leading the team with 15 kills and six blocks.
Lily Ebright led the team defensively with 20 digs.
 After falling in a tight first set 26-24, Rose-Hulman bounced back to win the second set 25-19 on a kill by
Desiree Beverley. John Carroll answered with a dominant win in the third set 25-12 and sealed the victory with a win in the fourth set 25-23.Â
Rose-Hulman faced the host school in the second match of the day. Denison started off strong winning the first two sets to jump to an early lead. Rose-Hulman avoided the sweep with a close win in the third set 25-23 on a kill from Beverley. Denison closed out the win taking the fourth set with a score of 25-18.
Gregg recorded another double-double with 17 assists and 11 kills in the match against Dension. Harrell and
Keira Ohse led the team with 12 kills each. Ebright continued to be a standout defensively with 28 digs.
Rose-Hulman will look to bounce back at their home tournament next weekend. The team will face Illinois College to start the weekend on Friday, September 27 at 7:30 PM.Â
