TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team opened their weekend invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Illinois College on Friday afternoon.
Rose-Hulman opened the match with a 25-21 first set victory, and they followed that up with a 25-16 victory in the second set as they hit .289 in the set.
The Fightin' Engineers followed that up with a dominating performance in the third set, hitting .394 with 14 kills and just one hitting error.
Jillian Gregg and
Hannah Bergfeld led the team with 9 kills, both hitting over .300 for the match.
Julia Vamos also added 5 kills with a .400 hitting percentage.
Julia Irmen and Gregg also reached double figures in assists with 14 and 11.
Lily Ebright added 8 digs per set and 24 total digs.
The Fightin' Engineers improve to 6-10 on the season with the win on Friday night. They return to Hulbert Arena on Saturday morning as they host Monmouth at 11 AM and St. Mary's (IN) at 1 PM.
