Volleyball Hosts Franklin in Cancer Research Game Wednesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team continues their conference schedule, hosting Franklin for their Cancer Research Game on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 PM.

BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE CANCER RESEARCH:
* The Rose-Hulman volleyball team has a tradition of partnering with Baylor College of Medicine for their Cancer Research Game each year. 
* The team will be hosting a bake sale and collecting donations at Wednesday's game against Franklin. 
* Head Coach Rachel Delsi has direct ties to the Baylor College of Medicine, as her mom was treated there following her cancer diagnosis, making a full recovery. 
* Over the year's the team has raised over $5,000 in support of cancer research. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 13-8 overall this year and 1-2 in the HCAC after falling short in a competitive match against MSJ with a final score of 3-2.
* Greta Carlson leads the team with 245 kills this season, averaging 3.36 kills per set. 
* Keira Ohse is another standout for the Fightin' Engineers with 184 kills and a team-high .336 hitting percentage. 
* Julia Irmen leads the team and the conference with 10.15 assists per set, which ranks 14th in all of NCAA DIII. 
* Lily Ebright is the star defensively with 455 digs and 6.15 digs per set. Her digs per set average leads the conference and ranks 4th in NCAA DIII. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish sixth in the 2025 HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points. 
* The team returns three HCAC All-Conference players, including Lily Ebright, Amaya Harrell, and Keira Ohse.
* Ebright is the team's top returner after earning Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season last year. 
* The team is led by Rachel Delsi, entering her eighth year at the helm of the program. 
* The win over Berea earlier this season marked the 100th career win for Head Coach Rachel Delsi in her eighth season with the Fightin' Engineers. 
* After hosting Franklin, Rose-Hulman will host Hanover College on Saturday, October 25, for National Girls and Women in Sports Day at 11 AM. 

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin stands at 13-10 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC this season.
* The team comes off a loss to Hanover in their last contest with a final score of 3-0.
* Kaitlyn Lavy leads the Grizzlies with 207 kills, averaging 2.65 kills per set. 
* Hope Moring is another standout hitter with 185 kills and an average of 2.28 kills per set. 
* Brionna Linkel is the leading setter for Franklin with 332 assists this season, averaging 4.88 assists per set. 
* Campbell Clark leads the defensive front with 227 digs and an average of 3.98 digs per set. 
* The team is led by Dillon Taylor in his second season with the Franklin Grizzlies. 
* Franklin was picked to finish eighth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 27 points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Franklin will host Berea on Saturday, October 25, at 2 PM. 

FRANKLIN SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 17-14 overall against the Grizzlies. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won two matches in a row against Franklin with back-to-back sweeps, 3-0, during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
* The last time Rose-Hulman lost to the Grizzlies was during the 2022 season with a final score of 3-0.
* The team has a home record of 9-5 all-time when hosting the Grizzlies.
