Terre Haute, Ind. - The Fightin' Engineers volleyball team hosted the Hanover Panthers on Saturday, October 25, for their National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The team suffered a loss to the Panthers in four sets (16-25, 25-18, 24-26, 20-25). The team now sits at 2-3 in HCAC play and 14-9 overall on the season.

Rose-Hulman hosted kids from the Terre Haute community for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The kids took part in team announcements and were able to play in a scrimmage coached by the team after the game. The team also signed autographs and took photos with the kids at the conclusion of the scrimmage.

Greta Carlson and
Amaya Harrell led the team in kills, each with 13, with Harrell hitting an impressive .345% on 29 total attempts.

Julia Irmen recorded her second straight double-double with 34 assists and led the team with 19 digs.
Emma Blanton,
Lily Ebright, and
Shae Clements all contributed double-digit digs with 18,17, and 15, respectively.

After dropping the opening set, the Fightin' Engineers put together a 14-6 run after being knotted at 12 to put away the set with a kill by
Greta Carlson.

Despite a 12-6 lead in the third set, the Panthers were able to chip away and knot the score at 19. After a back-and-forth battle, the Panthers were able to put the set away on a Rose-Hulman error.

The fourth set started close. The Panthers would make the first run of 6-0 after being tied at seven. This run would give the Panthers the lead they needed to finish off the set and hand Rose-Hulman the loss.

The women's volleyball team will continue conference play, hosting the Anderson Ravens on Wednesday, October 29, at 7 PM for the White Out Match.
