HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers were able to defend home field against Rose-Hulman, winning by a score of 2-0.
Hanover recorded the opening shot on goal in the 14
th minute, which was saved in the bottom left by
Justin Burns.
The Panthers saw success on the offensive end early into the match, as they attempted three corner kicks across the first 17 minutes of action. Patricio Campos would score the opening goal in the 20
th minute, giving Hanover the lead.
Burns added his second save in the 24
th, denying a shot in the bottom right corner by Cole Hubert. The Fightin' Engineers would conclude the half with two shots from
Eli Miller and
Cameron Hannah, which both sailed wide left.
Ryan Shapiro recorded the first shot of the second half, as he attempted back-to-back shots on goal in the 55
th minute, which were both saved by Rodrigo Gutierrez Olvera Gonzalez.
The Fightin' Engineers aggressive second-half attack led to them being awarded a pair of corner kicks in the 71
st minute.
Oliver Fila added a shot on goal off a corner kick, which would also by saved by Hanover's keeper.
Hanover was able to add another goal by Andrew Pavlisko to secure the 2-0 win.
The Fightin' Engineers finished the match with seven total shots to Hanover's nine, with Fila,
Aidan Kriek, and
Jacob Pohl appearing in all 90 minutes.
Rose-Hulman will look to bounce back as they host Franklin on Wednesday, October 8, at 7 PM.
