SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's cross country team won the 2025 HCAC Championships for the second year in a row on Saturday. This is the team's eighth HCAC title in the last 13 years.
The team recorded the fourth-best team score in program history at the HCAC Championships. This is the lowest team total of a winning team since 2016, when Manchester and Rose-Hulman tied with 21 points and Manchester won the tiebreaker.
The Fightin' Engineers had three runners earn top-five finishes.
Joshua Pohle was the top finisher for Rose-Hulman with a second-place finish and a time of 25:55.38. He was followed by
Sam Rinker in third place (26:14.78) and
Chris Lynn in fifth place (26:25.28).
The team ran together, putting together a pack that would take up four more spots in the top 10.
Eduardo del Rosal,
Will Boschen,
Rhys Phelps, and
Ben Tuckis took seventh through 10th place, finishing within 22 seconds of each other to help secure the first-place team finish.
Tuckis was named the HCAC Newcomer of the Year. This is the third year in a row that Rose-Hulman has earned this honor.
The Fightin' Engineers received another special award, with Head Coach
Derick Lawrence being named the HCAC Coach of the Year.
Rose-Hulman finished with nine First Team All-HCAC honorees, placing in the top 14, and two student-athletes earning Honorable Mention All-HCAC, placing 15th through 21st. This is the highest total All-HCAC and Honorable Mention honorees in Rose-Hulman program history in the conference meet.
The Fightin' Engineers will look ahead to compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday, November 15, at 11 AM in Louisville, Kentucky.
