CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2024-25 regular season with four individuals competing at the Wabash College Last Chance Meet on Sunday afternoon.
Vineet Ranade continued his record-breaking season and career in the meet as he broke the 50 Freestyle record with a time of 20.35 seconds. He also swam the second-fastest time in school history in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 48.10, trailing only Orion Martin's 2015 record of 47.92. Ranade finishes his final regular season with six individual school records in his career.
Trevor Wiley also won a pair of events in the meet with a time of 4:38.93 in the 500 Freestyle and 2:06.42 in the 200 Breaststroke. Those times rank 4th and 5th all-time in Rose-Hulman history, respectively.
Emre Gunay placed second in the 200 Breaststroke and third in the 100 Butterfly, and
Aidan Carter added a first-place finish in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 47.46 as the lone other individuals competing.
The Fightin' Engineers will now set their sights on the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 19-22Â as they hope to have qualifiers in the event.
Vineet Ranade and
Trevor Wiley both recorded B-cut times during the season and are eligible for selection to the championships. The NCAA Championships qualifiers will be announced on Wednesday, February 26.
