DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman baseball team took on #25 Centre in the second game of their weekend series on Saturday. The Fighitn' Engineers fell short to the Colonels with a final score of 7-0. This drops the team to 1-2 overall this season.
Connor O'Connell,
Mason Rasmussen, and
Ryland Hixon all recorded a hit in the contest to lead Rose-Hulman.
Brady Stawmyer was credited the loss on the mound after pitching 5.2 innings with five strikeouts.
Centre jumped to a 2-0 lead after a fielding error by the Fightin' Engineers brought in two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Centre added one more run in the second to take control of the game early with a score of 3-0.
Centre continued to produce offensively extending their lead in the third and eighth innings to secure the win over Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers will wrap up their weekend series against #25 Centre on Sunday, March 3, at 1 PM.
